My Top Design Trends for 2017

Ahhh.... Design Trends! One of my favourite things about being an Interior Designer. I study trends pretty much all the time and I see so many new trends emerging and I am always so excited to try an implement them into one of our new projects.

I know this post is a little bit late to the game... I've had it sat in my drafts for a while now and I just keep tinkering with it. But here it is, my top Interior Design trends for 2017!

Greenery (or just Green)

Late last year, Pantone released their Colour of the Year, Greenery. I've noticed that this colour hasn't been as well received as Pantone probably would have anticipated. It's caused a little bit of controversy and debate in our studio. We all have mixed feelings on the shade, it's not really what I had in mind when I heard that green would be the colour of the year. Muted and greyed tones are EVERYWHERE at the moment and that's what I thought would sway the colour choice this year. But then again, maybe they wanted to shake things up a bit..?

Blush Pink & Dark Green. A timeless statement colour combination!

Raw Materials
Cork and plywood are two raw materials which their wear and tear ends up becoming the primary feature of the interior. Plywood can allow your space to feel light and fresh and it can be used to create stunning detail on kitchen cabinets.

A mix of the perfect Grey-Green and Cork!

Terracotta Tones
Earthy tones, raw materials, handmade accessories - more or less a summary of 2017s Interior Design trends. Terracotta to me, feels more like an evolvement of the blush and dusty pinks we have seen over the last couple of years. A versatile and calming colour and material that can be paired with the other top trends of the year. Winner!
