tropical trend

Think Palm Springs, the 1950s, low rise residential architecture, pastel coloured Mustangs sitting pretty on the drive and the straight roads decorated with the tallest palm trees. That's the exact thought I have when I see the palm leaf print thats circulating the fashion and interior design world right now.
Whenever I see it, I feel like I've been thrown back in time and halfway across the world to California. I've always wished I was born in the 1950s because the interior design, fashion and beauty in that time was incredible. Clashing prints, pastel tones, walnut furniture and the peak of some of the most iconic designers we imitate today. Mid century modernism is finally getting its chance to steal the interior design spotlight and it's sending my design mind into overdrive!

Some people might be a bit intimidated with the botanist trend because it can be so bold. It is an acquired taste. But if you fancy dabbling in the trend, you can add simple elements and accessories to your home such as cushions on your sofa, a throw over your bed, or a striking piece of art work in your hallway. It's such an easy print to style, complimenting the marble and rose gold trends so much and looks stunning with Pantone's colour of the year, Rose Quartz. So if your home is already pretty much up to date on some of the trends this year then you can quite easily combine the print with your existing space.

Here are a few of my favourite interiors that I've seen recently that I think are gorgeous representations of how the palm leaf print should be done!
